The English top flight resumed on 17 June, with the current match round set to be completed on Monday night, when Manchester City host Burnley.

The Citizens' Kevin De Bruyne, who is expected to play a starring role in that contest, is the second-highest earner in the league. The Belgian playmaker receives £350 000 (R7.5 million) per week at the Etihad Stadium, according to capology.com

Only United goalkeeper David de Gea, who pockets weekly wages of £375 000 (R8.1 million), currently earns more than the City midfielder, who is on par with Arsenal's Mesut Ozil.
