Both sides were in the headlines following their Premier League at Stamford Bridge, where the Blues secured a 2-0 win.
However, Pele, who is the only player ever to win three World Cups, has revealed why he would prefer to play for the Gunners rather than Jose Mourinho's side.
"Arsenal is a good team to play for. I like the teams that play open football," Pele was quoted as saying by Metro.
"Between Chelsea and Arsenal? I would play for Arsenal if I had the chance."
Pele also had his say on the actions of Brazilian-born striker, Diego Costa, who recently received a three-match ban for his actions in the clash against Arsenal.
"It is not a good message for children. He didn't get a red card, but he was charged. It was dirty," he added.
"Unfortunately so many things like this happen on the pitch and this is not good. That's clear. It is not good for football."
