Klopp Reacts To Liverpool's Shock Loss

Jurgen Klopp slams Liverpool players after shock defeat to Crystal Palace.

An angry Jurgen Klopp reacted to Liverpool's 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday, a result that has seen them slip behind Arsenal and Manchester City.

The Reds could have been sitting at the top of the Premier League table after this weekend had they claimed all three points against Palace, after Arsenal slipped up with a 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday evening.

Earlier on Sunday, though, Liverpool succumbed to a 1-0 loss to Palace at Anfield, while Pep Guardiola's City scored five goals in a convincing victory over Luton Town on Saturday to put pressure on their rivals.

Klopp, speaking following his team's uninspired performance, bemoaned his side's lack of intensity off the ball.

"If you would look to my teams over the years, I think you could say our pressing is usually good. Counterpress is there," he said, according to the Mirror.

"The first half we were open, like 'How can that happen?'

"Curtis (Jones) was the only one really chasing, really getting out and from time to time break their rhythm.

"Beside that, they could just play through. They [Liverpool] were horrible to watch."

Liverpool are now third on the table with 71 points, tied with second-placed Arsenal who have a better goal difference. City, meanwhile, are two points clear amid their push for a fourth consecutive title.
