Report: Manchester United Make Contact With Bayern Munich Star's Agent

Manchester United have reportedly contacted a Bayern Munich star's agent regarding a potential transfer this off-season.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is believed to keen to strengthen his midfield options in this transfer window, especially with the uncertainty surrounding Paul Pogba's future at Old Trafford.

The Frenchman is heading into the final year of his contract at United, and there has been no indication an extension will be signed.

As a result, per German publication Bild, the Red Devils have made enquiries to Germany star Leon Goretzka's agent about his situation in Munich, and could look to make a move if the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner leaves.

Similarly to Pogba, Goretzka is now in the final year of his deal with the Bundesliga champions, although the Bundesliga club is said to be in talks over a new deal with the player's camp.

It is further claimed that while the Germany international enjoys being with Bavarians and would prefer to stay, he would be open to offers if an agreement on an extension with Bayern cannot be reached.

Solskjaer has reportedly made the midfield department a top priority ahead of the 2021/22 season, with the club having been linked with West Ham United star Declan Rice, Leicester City's Wilfried Ndidi and Brighton Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma in the past few months.
