After back-to-back wins, Bayer Leverkusen were brought back to earth with a 4-1 thumping at the hands of Wolfsburg.

Renato Steffen bagged Wolfsburg's third goal a couple minutes later while Pongracic completed his brace on the night to make 4-0.

Julian Baumgartlinger did manage to bag a consolation for Leverkusen, who miss the chance to leapfrog RB Leipzig into third spot.

Vincenzo Grifo's opener for Freiburg was cancelled out Andre Silva's equaliser on 35 minutes, before the visitors bagged to quick-fire goals through Nils Petersen and Lucas Holer after the hour mark.

Daichi Kamada gave the home side hope by reducing the deficit in the 79th minute but it was left to Timothy Chandler to bag the equaliser three minutes later.
