The Cameroon-born forward holds the record for the youngest player to feature in a Bundesliga match at the age of 16, having made his Germany top-flight debut in 2020.
The 16-year-old is now a member of Dortmund's first-team squad, and has racked up three goals in 15 appearances for the club that finished third in the Bundesliga last season.
However, Moukoko has now opened up about the difficulties he faced during his first season in the big league.
"In the beginning, the reports were very stressful for me, especially when my age was discussed," the teenager told German publication WAZ.
"I didn't want to do this to myself anymore. I wanted to quit, but my trainer helped me a lot, he supported me. I could forget everything on the pitch."
Moukoko is likely to get some more minutes in the upcoming campaign after Jadon Sancho was sold to Manchester United last month.
