Alphonso Davies has revealed the Bayern Munich players were upset that Robert Lewandowski will not given the Ballon d'Or award this year.
The Polish striker was the standout performer during the 2019/2020 campaign as his 55 goals in all competitions inspired the Bavarians to the famous treble.
There will be no Ballon d'Or award this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, but Davies insists Lewandowski would have been the clear favourite for the accolade.
"Lewandowski is a guy who scores goals for fun and he is a great player," he told the Bundesliga's official channel.
"The thing that upset most of us was that he did not win the Ballon d'Or this year because they cancelled it. This year was his year because he won everything that there is to win at club level and he was the best goalscorer and best player.
"What I take away from him is his mentality and his will to always work to get better, to score goals, and to help the team to win."
