The White Castle's hunt for a new coach continues after the club parted ways with Portuguese coach Jose Peseiro following a loss to Stellenbosch FC in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Ayman El-Ramady took over as interim coach and led the team to victory in the Egyptian Cup against rivals Pyramids FC.

The Egyptian admitted that he would not speak about his future with the club and said discussions would happen to determine what would be best for Zamalek.

With continued uncertainty surrounding the head coach position, Youm7 reported that AS FAR Rabat coach Alexandre Santos has been tipped to take over as the new coach.

The publication revealed that talks between Zamalek management and Santos are currently underway as the club hopes to compete for local and continental honours.

Santos has experience with the Egyptian league having previously served as Peseiro's assistant coach at Al Ahly, FC Porto, SC Braga, and the Saudi national team.
