The South African tactician has taken charge of the North African outfit and will be under pressure to deliver success.
Having been crowned Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 champions in each of the past two seasons, there is a growing expectation for the Johannesburg native not only to maintain the club’s domestic dominance but also to elevate their standing on the continental stage.
One of the best ways to assist a club's evolution is by strengthening the squad, and it seems MCA could be adding a new name to their ranks sooner rather than later. According to AfricaFoot, the club are on the verge of completing a deal for Algerian shot-stopper Alexis Guendouz.
The 29-year-old is no stranger to the Algerian top flight, having turned out for the likes of USM Alger and CR Belouizdad in recent years.
Last season, however, he left CRB to pursue a new challenge in Iran with Persepolis. His stint there proved short-lived, though, as he has since parted ways with the club. The same report now claims he is close to joining Mokwena’s side.

It is also claimed that the Saint-Etienne native waived a significant portion of his remaining wages in Iran to facilitate the move, as he is believed to be keen on working with the former Mamelodi Sundowns manager. Guendouz reportedly wants to stay in good standing with national team coach Vladimir Petkovic, with the 2026 FIFA World Cup on the horizon.
