The Red Devils' preparations for the new season are in full swing as head coach Jose Riveiro looks forward to his first season in charge of the Egyptian giants.
Following a disappointing FIFA Club World Cup campaign, the focus for pre-season has been on preparing the squad to be match-fit for the new season, as the Red Giant looks to defend its Egyptian Premier League title.
While the club have made several new signings, several stars are expected to leave the 44-time league champions. One such name is Reda Slim.
According to Sport El Watan, a source revealed that the Red Castle is looking to sell Slim to lift the financial burden on the club.
The Moroccan currently has a three-year deal with the club and is carrying a salary package worth $2,1 million (R37,4 million), and the club feel this is unaffordable.
The publication reported further that the Red Devils intended to market the 25-year-old to clubs in the Gulf in the hopes of securing a suitable offer.
Al Ahly will look to do the same thing with Slim as it has done with Percy Tau. The South African left Al Ahly in January 2025 when he joined Qatar SC as the 31-year-old was reportedly on a deal worth $1,5 million (R26,7 million).

The deal will be done in such a way that Slim will receive all funds from the transfer as the club looks to ease its financial burdens.
