Mbeumo was a long-time target for Ruben Amorim's team, and after weeks of negotiations with Brentford, the Cameroon international joined for £71 million (R1,6 billion).
The former Brentford man will add much-needed impetus to the Red Devils' lacklustre attack as they struggled to score goals last season, netting just 44 in the English Premier League.
According to Africa Foot, former Man Utd winger Quinton Fortune discussed Mbeumo's move to Old Trafford and noted the impact the 25-year-old would have on the team.
"Mbeumo's move to Manchester United is not only a masterstroke, but also a transfer window coup," Fortune said.
"For me, he's one of the top five strikers in the league right now."
The South African, who played at Old Trafford from 1999 to 2006, highlighted Mbeumo's qualities as a goalscorer and creator.
"He can score all kinds of goals, both inside and outside the box," Fortune said. "He has that striking ability, and he's proven it. He's also capable of creating and setting up goals for other players. Bryan improves his team while remaining versatile in attack," he added.
In addition to Mbeumo, the 46-time Bafana international also acknowledged the arrival of Matheus Cunha and said the duo would help ease the pressure on Bruno Fernandes.

He concluded: "His arrival, along with that of Matheus Cunha, will relieve Bruno Fernandes of the burden he has carried in recent seasons. Bryan also offers Ruben Amorim plenty of options thanks to his versatility. In my opinion, he's a major signing for them."
