Reigning CAF Champions League winners Pyramids FC are reportedly worried that star player Fiston Mayele may move to one of their closest league rivals.

Mayele's 2024/25 season was one to remember as the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) international netted 18 goals in 38 games in all competitions last season, including nine in the club's victorious Champions League campaign.
His exploits on the pitch have generated considerable interest in the 31-year-old from clubs across Africa and Saudi Arabia. The club recently rejected an offer from Saudi Pro League side Al-Fateh as the club clings to hopes that Mayele will stay.
However, the former Yanga SC forward remains keen on a move away from the Sky Blues, but now concerns come from the club's management that Mayele could be holding out to bridge a move to league rivals Al Ahly, as reported by Ahly News.
The club's management is reportedly worried about Mayele's future as the reported Kaizer Chiefs target has just one year remaining on his contract.
If Mayele were to be sold, the Sky Blues would reportedly be open to selling him to a club abroad to maximise his transfer value, but there remains a fear that he could be moving to Saudi Arabia as he awaits an opportunity to move to Pyramids' domestic rivals, Al Ahly.

The club are now reportedly working to add strict clauses to any future sale of Mayele to prevent a move to one of their league rivals.
