Mayele has remained a target for a move away from the Egyptian side since he made the move from Yanga SC in 2023.
The 31-year-old has been on Nasreddine Nabi's radar since the Tunisian joined Kaizer Chiefs, but now the Amakhosi face stiff competition for Mayele's signature amid interest from Saudi Arabia.
The Sky Blues recently set a $4 million (R71 million) price tag for the Congolese international and are seemingly preparing for his departure.
According to Stad Ahly, National Bank of Egypt forward Osama Faisal has been identified as Mayele's replacement. Additionally, Faisal has also emerged as a potential target for Jose Riveiro's Al Ahly and fellow top-three rival, Zamalek.
Al Ahly club officials reportedly want to secure local deals ahead of the 2025/26 season, and Faisal is their top target. National Bank management is supposedly demanding 80 million Egyptian pounds (R28.6 million) for his services, which may prove difficult for the Red Devils management.
Zamalek has also expressed keen interest in signing Faisal, as he was a former White Castle player, and the club has allegedly also started communications with Faisal's representatives.
