Mngqithi: Signs That R62m Man Will Start Delivering

Mngqithi: Signs That R62m Man Will Start Delivering

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Manqoba Mngqithi has maintained his faith in the club's most-expensive signing, Arthur Sales to start delivering amid his slow start to life at the club.

With the title of being the club's most expensive ever signing at €3.2m (R62m), the expectation on Sales was set quite high long before he even touched the ball for Sundowns.

The fact that he suffered an injury that kept him sidelined for a number of weeks hasn't helped his cause either - but since his return, Sales has shown a glimpse of what he can do in Sundowns' 2-0 win over Polokwane City where he set up both goals for youngster Kutlwano Lethlaku.

Now with the wheels in motion for Sales, Mngqithi says it's only a matter of time before the goals start rolling in.

"I'm just excited that, I think he is adapting well into the team because he's a very good football player. He may not have scored up until now, but I believe there is a lot we can still get from him without sometimes getting goals," he told journalists after the Polokwane City match.

"There is a higher potential of getting assists from him because technically he is very sound. He has a concept of space that is unbelievable, he identifies spaces very well. He creates space and he exploits spaces and he gets into spaces at the right moment, which makes him a player that has been in a situation that has got a chance in every match that he has played.

"Every match he always had a chance, he is always in an area where something could have happened. A bit unfortunate that he has not scored. But I think it's very close. I think he is on the right track," he explained.
