Chiefs Coach: They Will Make Some Mistakes

Despite his disappointment with his side's 2-2 draw against Magesi FC on Wednesday, Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has hailed the emergence of the club's youth players to the first team.

Chiefs' starting XI against Magesi consisted of four academy graduates in Mfundo Vilakazi, Mduduzi Shabalala, Njabulo Blom and Nkosingiphile Ngcobo.

More impressively was the fact that, Bruce Bvuma, Happy Mashiane, Wandile Duba and Samkelo Zwane formed part of the substitute's bench, which is an indication of how Chiefs' youth system has been thriving in recent years.

"It is a very good thing for the Club to have young talent coming through our academy. They have a lot of potential so we must give them opportunities. They will make mistakes so we must encourage them rather than criticise their mistakes. We believe this is the beginning of a very bright future for the Club and the academy," he told the club's media department.

A drawback for the Tunisian mentor was Chiefs' inability to convert their chances, despite their come-from-behind fight to snatch a point in the second half of the match.

"A team like Kaizer Chiefs need to do more. We need to do better early on. When we start well we must finish our chances. I am not taking too many positives from this game because I believe we should be winning games like this," he added.

Chiefs' next match is the mammoth Carling Knockout clash against Mamelodi Sundowns at the FNB Stadium this weekend.
