Is Tau really worth R 70 million?
The Tau vs Sundowns saga has been dominating headlines for sometime.I am not going to bore you with the details.
Like many,my point of concern has been his price tag,70 million.I wonder what yardstick did Sundowns use to get to it?
There is no doubt that Tau is talented, but talent alone is not good enough to reach a definite evaluation.Tau is 24,he has 4years to reach 28,the prime age where a footballer should be playing his best football. And 6 to reach 30, after that it is downhill.
He will go to Europe and his team will need to make room for him to adjust, and that may be a season or two...After which he will be already 26/7. Is he really worth that money? Does Sundowns rate him that much because they are paying him a 70 million price tag salary? Or they are just taking chances?
