Bayern Munich sent Paris Saint-Germain crashing out of the UEFA Champions League with a 3-0 aggregate win in the round of 16.

Venue: Allianz Arena

Bayern recalled Thomas Muller in attack in place of Leroy Sane to join Jamal Musiala and Kingsley Coman just behind lone-forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

The Parisians, meanwhile, had Kylian Mbappe fit again after he featured off the bench in the first leg but were without Neymar, who has sustained an ankle injury.

PSG had a lively start as Mbappe had a chance to give them an early lead after he was slid through on goal by Fabian Ruiz but his strike across goal was well saved by shot-stopper Yann Sommer.

Bayern absorbed the pressure from the visitors and made the game a real contest after the half-hour mark as Musiala forced a superb save from goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The French giants were then dealt an injury blow nine minutes before the interval after skipper Marquinhos could not continue with a seemingly hip injury and he was replaced by Nordi Mukiele.

The flow of the game was not affected as Christophe Galtier's charges came very close to going ahead moments later after Sommer was dispossessed by Vitinha, who fired a shot towards the gaping net but Matthijs de Ligt recovered and made goal-line clearance.

Bayern had a strong start in the second stanza as Choupo-Moting glanced home a header into the back of the net eight minutes but the goal was disallowed by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for a marginal offside in the build-up.

Julian Nagelsmann's troops were relentless in their pressing and finally broke the deadlock on the hour-mark after Choupo-Moting had the easiest task of a tap-in courtesy of square pass by Leon Goretzka.

The Bavarians changed their approach going forward with 22 minutes remaining, as Sane came on for Choupo-Moting and with PSG subdued, the hosts also introduced speedy forward Sadio Mane in the closing stages in place of Musiala.

PSG almost had a lifeline just after that as Sergio Ramos could not direct Messi's corner at the back post on target and that was that, as Serge Gnabry killed off the game for Bayern in the last minute with a lovely finish over Donnarumma after a splitting pass by Joao Cancelo.
