How Ten Hag 'Punished' Man Utd Stars After Liverpool Defeat

According to the Daily Mirror, the Dutchman responded to his team's performance by insisting they sit quietly through Liverpool's dressing-room celebrations on Sunday.

Ten Hag, furious with what he had seen from his players, reportedly urged them to use the Reds' loud cheers as motivation going forward.

The Red Devils were embarrassed at Anfield in the Premier League at the weekend, suffering their worst-ever defeat in England's top division.

Despite a bright start to the encounter for the away side, Cody Gakpo ensured that the Reds went into half-time a goal in front, before United's defence capitulated in the second half.

Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez each scored twice, while Gakpo added a second and substitute Robert Firmino got on the scoresheet minutes after his introduction to the game.

After making them listen to Jurgen Klopp's men celebrate, Ten Hag reportedly told his players they were lucky to be getting on the bus back to Manchester.

An early meeting at Carrington followed on Monday morning as the Dutchman sought to find answers as to how it went so wrong an Anfield.
