There appears to be a U-turn in Highlands Park's ultimatum to the City of Ekurhuleni that the club would move to a different venue for their top-flight games if the poor state of Makhulong Stadium isn't attended to.
Director Sinky Mnisi lashed out at the municipality last month during a press conference for the "appalling condition" of the venue for their Absa Premiership home matches. He added that their stay there would depend on how the City of Ekurhuleni responded before the season gets underway next month.

Highlands will host Kaizer Chiefs at Makhulong Stadium on August 4 and Mnisi's comments – made before the fixture list was confirmed – suggested the club would play their home matches elsewhere.
"I am happy to report back that the municipality has since responded positively and hopefully the venue should be ready for our game against Chiefs," Mnisi told the Siya crew this week.
"We have kept Makhulong as our home ground. As a speak to you, they are attending to the VIP and media area that we were concerned about as well as the pitch. We are the only PSL team in the region so of course we want to be close to our support. I am happy that we are now working closely with the municipality."
