Siyanda Xulu's representatives have provided clarity on the Bafana Bafana defender following AmaZulu boss Sandile Zungu's latest comments on the player.
Xulu, who is clubless at the moment spent a two-month training stint with AmaZulu in a bid to maintain his fitness following his exit from Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel in March.
This naturally led to speculation that there could be a move on the cards for the 30-year-old to Usuthu, with Xulu being one of the best free agents on the market right now.
However, AmaZulu President Zungu has been quoted in the media as saying that Xulu 'is definitely not in their plans for next season.'
Now, the player's representative Paul Mitchell MD of Siyavuma Sports Group has provided clarity on the matter, revealing that there had never been any deal on the table for Xulu to join the KZN outfit in the first place, and that they are assessing various options for the player.
"It was quite clear from the outset that Siyanda was at Amazulu for training and keeping fitness purposes only, after leaving Israel. He needed to keep his levels for the Guinea and France international games, at that time coach Benni [McCarthy] was there and with the club, kindly facilitated Siyanda to train with them," Mitchell told the crew.
"No discussions were ever going to take place on Siyanda and any contract offer from Amazulu. We are looking into various markets for Siyanda as the windows open up come July 1st. Siyanda is grateful to Amazulu for giving him the opportunity to train over the last two months," Mitchell added.
