News coming out of Eswatini is that former Royal AM owner Shauwn 'MaMkhize' Mkhize has finalised the take over of Mbabane Highlanders FC.
Highlanders outgoing PRO Lington Gule confirmed to Soccer Laduma that the Durban based business woman has officially taken over the club from the previous chairman, Bheki 'Rubber' Simelane.

Gule said that the patrons of the club handed over the reigns of the club to Mkhize on Saturday.
"That's true. Yes MaMkhize is the new President of Mbabane Highlanders. The negotiations have been ongoing and now I can confirm to you that she is the President of Mbabane Highlanders AM FC. We would hereby like to express our gratitude and appreciation to the outgoing Director Mr Bheki Rubber Simelane who took over the team when no one was there and started rebuilding the team's legacy last season. Mr Simelane did a lot of good work for the team. As Mbabane Highlanders we will always be grateful to him. He took the team when we were in the First Division and he helped us even fight relegation last season. We will be forever grateful to Mr Simelane," Gule told Soccer Laduma.

Outgoing Director Simelane, has called for the fans to continue supporting the club and the new owners.
"Yes that's true. The handover happened on Saturday and now she is the president of the club. I know supporters were not happy because they wanted to see me continue running the team because I still had a contract with the club but now its all in the hands of MaMkhize and even if I am not there I urge all Mbabane Highlanders supporters to continue supporting the team and the new owners for the good of the club. I will always be available if there is a need for advice and direction. Let's support MaMkhize now," Simelane told Soccer Laduma.
Mbabane Highlanders are one of the oldest football clubs in Swaziland together with rivals Mbabane Swallows, Manzini Wanderers and Moneni Pirates.
