News coming out of Swaziland is that Mbabane Swallows have released their South African defender Thabiso Maharale.
Maharale only joined Swallows at the beginning of last season, but he didn't do enough to earn himself an extended stay at the Swazi team.
Swallows' acting CEO Sibusiso Manana confirmed to the Observer that Maharale has been released by his club.
"The only player we have released ahead of the new season is Thabiso Maharale from South Africa. We felt that he has not done enough to warrant an extension of his contract and he also indicated that he has found a team in South Africa. The decision was therefore by mutual consent," said Manana.
Swallows finished last season in second place, just three points behind champions Royal Leopards.
