Chiefs Monitoring New Right Back Solution?

The sources have added that Amakhosi have been tracking the former Maritzburg United defender from even before he joined the Urban Warriors. Team scouts have profiled Bhengu and believe he could offer a new dimension to Chiefs' right-back position.

"They are looking at reinforcing their right back position. You see now they are also using Njabulo Blom there because they don't have enough right backs to cover up or replace the others when they are out and that's why they are monitoring and observing how Lungelo (Bhengu) is doing at Spurs this season and then they will make their final decision. But for now, they are interested in him and that's why they are monitoring him," the Siya source stated.

A second insider mentioned that Chiefs are also considering promoting young talent Sfiso Timba.

"You know Sfiso Timba came back from his trials in Europe despite impressing because the club are looking at registering him next season. So their focus is on fortifying that right back position and Lungelo Bhengu and Timba are some of the options that they are looking at," the second insider stated.

Attempts to contact Chiefs for comment on the matter were unsuccessful at the time of publication.
