With Itumeleng Khune out for the remainder of the 2018/19 season, Chiefs have Akpeyi, Virgil Vries, Bruce Bvuma, Brylon Petersen and now Molefe to choose from as Ernst Middendorp looks for the club to get back to winning ways. The team's football manager, Bobby Motaung, told their official website, "Apart from Mashiane, we are excited to announce the promotion of another goalkeeper Karabo Molefe. Karabo is only 16 years old but has done well in the development team. "With his height and talent, we believe he will be one to watch for the future as he also has an advantage of learning from all the experienced top goalkeepers we have in the team." Motaung went on to say, "We have a fairly young side and we've added more young talent, which will inject more young energy in the squad. We hope to go all the way in the Nedbank Cup and challenge for league honours come (the) end of the season." Molefe was seen training alongside his new teammates at today's media day at Naturena.
