Football analyst Junior Khanye has supported Thulani Serero's decision to sign for Cape Town City instead of Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates.
Khanye believes Serero has nothing left to prove after a highly successful career abroad, making his return to South African football more about enjoyment than pressure.

Serero, now 34, was announced as a Cape Town City signing last week, marking his return to the PSL after 14 years overseas.
Since leaving Ajax Cape Town in 2011, he has played for Ajax Amsterdam, Vitesse, Al Jazira, and Khor Fakkan, gaining valuable experience at the highest level.
A move to Chiefs or Pirates would have come with intense expectations, with fans hoping to see the same young Serero who once lit up the PSL, according to Khanye.
However, at City he can play with freedom, guide younger players, and potentially transition into a role beyond his playing career, making it a smart and well-thought-out decision, Khanye believes.
"Thulanu Serero is alright where he is, and I think that is a right move for him. He is where he was supposed to be, because at this stage of his career he doesn't need to prove anything to anyone. He has achieved all that has to be achieved in professional football, and we can't question his decision. Most players dream of the things he has achieved, and here he is, having seen and done it all at the highest level, and let's just allow him to enjoy his football now where he has chosen to be. I'm sure Cape Town City signed him for a leadership role that he will be expected to play as well in the team to guide the young players. The club may also decide to use his services beyond his playing career in another role and benefit," said Khanye, speaking exclusively to the Siya crew.

"Having said that, I don't doubt the player's quality and experience and I think he still has a lot to offer on the field at the highest level in South African football. He has done well in choosing to play for Cape Town City because there he will be able to enjoy his football without too much pressure and high expectations. Had he gone to Chiefs or Pirates, they would have expected to see the 20-year-old Serero who they saw doing wonders in the PSL back in the day," Khanye added.
