Free State Stars To Land Lesotho International

Free State Stars are set to complete a deal with Lesotho international, Thapelo Tale, who plays for FC Likhopo in the tiny Mountain Kingdom. The 25-year-old striker impressed Stars during their trip to Lesotho earlier this year where they competed in the four-team Prime Minister Charity Cup. Free State Stars Public Relations manager, Lebohang Maketa, confirmed to Soccer Laduma that talks are at an advanced stage to bring the Lesotho striker to the Bethlehem-based side before the start of the new season. "We could have sealed the signature of the player by now. Unfortunately he has been busy with the Lesotho national team who are playing in the 2015 African Cup of Nations first round qualifiers," Maketa said. "What I can tell you is that the striker will join the team when they start their pre-season training on June 20," he added. He also noted that the club is holding trials in search of young talent to improve their squad ahead of the new league season. Tale had also caught the attention of National First Division side, Santos, who made several attempts to sign the striker following an impressive showing at last year's COSAFA Cup played in Zambia. Stars have moved quickly to reinforce their squad after a horror 2013/14 season that saw the club survive relegation on the last day of the campaign.
