Ajax Cape Town head coach, Roger de Sa, says that the club will assess Bafana Bafana defender, Rivaldo Coetzee, early next week.
The 18-year-old centre back made his African Cup of Nations debut last month against Algeria, however it was cut short when he sustained a knee injury. Despite making a comeback in Bafana’s third group game, he was unable to help them secure a spot in the knockout stages.
Now, as Coetzee turns his head back to the domestic scene, his head coach says that he will have to be assessed first before being put back into the starting XI.
When asked if he’s likely to play in their next game, De Sa said, “Rivaldo is back on Monday, so we’ll assess him then and make a decision. He only played two games at the AFCON and is just 18, so he should be ok.”
Ajax face Polokwane City on February 11th as they look to get their 2015 off to a winning start.
