Chippa Share Spoils With 10-Man AmaZulu

Absa Premiership
Result: Chippa 1-1 AmaZulu
Date: 13 March 2015
Venue: Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium
Chippa United's winless run continued on Friday as they drew 1-1 with AmaZulu in their Absa Premiership encounter.
The visitors made a disasterous start to the clash as they were reduced to 10 men in only the fifth minute. Bongi Ntuli was adjudged to have elbowed a Chippa defender and earned a straight red card for his troubles.
Despite playing with a numbers disadvantage it was Usuthu who netted the first goal of the game. A foul by James Okwuosa on Bornwell Mwape gave AmaZulu a free kick that S'fiso Hlanti delivered for Mbulelo Mabizela to head home. The goal was the veteran PSL player's third goal for AmaZulu.
The scores were level once more on the stroke of half-time. Erick Chipeta put a dangerous cross into the Usuthu area and Roscoe Pietersen put the ball into his own net in an attempt to clear it.
On the hour mark the away side had a decent chance to put themselves in front again as George Akpabio found himself through on goal, but his attempt went straight at Murambadoro.
AmaZulu looked more likely to score the winner as they tested Murambadoro again but Chippa held on to salvage a point.
