A FC Barcelona graduate coach, who is a serial winner in his own right, would be able to coach the top teams in South Africa, according to his agent.
Ramon Tribulietx Santolaya is a name unfamiliar to South Africans, however, he is a coach who has been carving his own path in New Zealand.
Having graduated with a five-year university degree under the tutelage of Paco Seirulo, Director of Training Methodology at FC Barcelona, the 47-year-old coach is vastly experienced and has been crowned New Zealand Premiership champion for eight years running with Auckland City - the club former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Emiliano Tade and current Maritzburg United defender Daniel Morgan turned out for.
The well-travelled coach is believed to be considering the PSL as a possible next destination and his agent, Francesco Ferreri of On the Ball Sports Management, reveals that the Spaniard has what it takes to coach some of the top teams in the Absa Premiership.
"Look, Ramon is a top coach and his track record speaks for himself. He has won the New Zealand Premiership on countless occasions and has won bronze at the FIFA Club World Cup, so obviously that tells you what he is all about.
"He will bring a different dimension to the PSL, especially in a stable club, where he can work on a project to ameliorate the club, as he did with Auckland City, where he built a team and managed to dominate the league for over eight years, as well as become the coach boasting the most appearances at the Club World Cups," Ferreri told the Siya crew.
