Sacolo joined Ajax in July last year, having previously been on the books of IFK Varnamo in Sweden. The midfielder signed a two-year deal with the Mother City outfit, when he joined them.
The 23-year old failed to make any official appearances for Ajax in their campaign of the 2014/15 season.
The Urban Warriors confirmed on the club’s official website that the Johannesburg-born player has been allowed to move on.
“Phatizwe Sacolo was released after failing to live up to expectation after spending a few months at the club,” Ajax confirmed on their official website.
Ajax confirmed that Dominic Isaacs, Lance Davids, Clifford Mulenga, Robin Ngalande, Erwin Isaacs and Thabiso Nkoana have all left the club. Keagan Dolly is on his way to Mamelodi Sundowns, after spending the 2014/15 season on loan at Ajax.
