Tso Open To Coming Out Of Retirement

Orlando Pirates legend Benedict ‘Tso’ Vilakazi has indicated that he is open to a return to the game as a player if the opportunity presents itself.

Vilakazi left the Buccaneers after eight years to join AaB Aalborg in Denmark in 2007 before returning to South Africa after only a season abroad.

On his return he joined Mamelodi Sundowns but had a relatively unsuccessful spell and was subsequently loaned to Mpumalanga Black Aces. The 33-year-old then moved on to Black Leopards before seeing out the rest of his playing days in Swaziland and Botswana.

The decorated midfield maestro has indicated that he is not quite ready to rule out a return to professional football and thinks that at his age, he could still manage a few more seasons.

“I will say yes I’m retired, but if the game comes back and says, ‘Serve us again’, I will come back. I mean if Rivaldo is playing at the age of 42, why can’t I go back and play at the age of 33,” Vilakazi told Soccer Laduma.

“For now I’m focusing on coaching ETSA and we did well recently in the Engen Knockout. I’ll build from there.”
