With Ernesto Valverde's future seemingly uncertain following FC Barcelona's shock UEFA Champions League exit at the hands of Liverpool, the Catalan club's president has now made a final decision on whether or not the coach will continue in his position.

Many Cules called for the tactician's sacking after Barca were dumped out of Europe, perhaps not only because of the fact they did not get to the final, but also because of the manner in which they were knocked out.
The team blew a 3-0 aggregate lead at Anfield, losing 4-0 to a hungry and determined Liverpool side, a loss that was reminiscent of last season's quarter-final disappointment at Roma.
However, it now appears that the Barca board have decided Valverde will stay on as manager, with club president Josep Maria Bartomeu insisting he remains the right man for the job.
"The planning for next season is already underway, for some time," he said, according to Sport.
"There are players that have been signed and we will talk about it after the (Copa) final.
"Valverde, I said the other day, has the support of the president and its board. He's the coach that we want.
"This is a medium- to long-term project. He has a contract and we're very happy with him. Now it's about the players recovering from the blow to their morale."
