Mamelodi Sundowns will return to the DStv Premiership for the first time in two months when they clash against SuperSport United in the Tshwane derby on Wednesday evening.

DStv Premiership

Teams: SuperSport United v Mamelodi Sundowns

Date: 29 November 2023

Venue: Lucas Moripe Stadium

Time: 19h30

The Brazilians were last in action in the league towards the end of September after they came from behind to thrash Stellenbosch 3-1.

Masandawana were mainly scheduled in the African Football League since then, a competition they won before the FIFA break and returned from the international break with a 3-0 drubbing of Nouadhibou of Mauritania in the CAF Champions League opening group game on Sunday.

Rulani Mokwena's charges remained top of the DStv Premiership standings until this Sunday, when they were leapfrogged by Cape Town City, who have played five games more, by a point.

The Tshwane giants will be without Bongani Zungu and Marcelo Allende, both due to suspensions.

SuperSport, on the other hand, are in a little slump as their winless run in all competitions extended to three games with a 1-0 defeat to Modern Future in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage opener.

United lost 2-1 to Sekhukhune United in the league prior to the FIFA break and missed the chance to go above Sundowns, as they are placed third on the log, a point behind the Brazilians who have played four games less than them.

Matsatsantsa will be without goalkeeper Ricardo Goss and striker Etiosa Ighodaro, who are barred by the loan agreement with parent club Sundowns.

Here's how they line up:

SuperSport United: Arubi, Johannes, Okon, Margeman, Pfumbidzai, Hlatshwayo, Dzvukamanja, Lakay, Hamza, Lungu, Grobler

Subs: Xulu, Campbell, Baloyi, Dopolo, Moralo, Matodzi, Nange, Rasebotja, Albert

Mamelodi Sundowns: Williams, De Reuck, Mashego, B.Onyango, Lebusa, Mkhulise, Maboe, Maema, Ribeiro, Morena, Shalulile

Subs: Pieterse, Kekana, Mudau, Ngobeni, Mokoena, Nkosi, Nku, Zwane, Sirino
