Teams: Orlando Pirates v Stellenbosch FC

Date: 29 December 2023

Venue: Orlando Stadium

Time: 20h00

Pirates could not extend their unbeaten run to seven matches after they were hammered 3-1 by SuperSport United last Saturday.

The Buccaneers, as a result, dropped down to fourth on the table with 25 points, four points behind second-placed SuperSport.

Stellies, meanwhile, will be back in action for the first time since winning the Carling Knockout after beating TS Galaxy on penalties following a 1-1 draw in extra-time two weeks ago.

In addition to their successful cup run, Steve Barker's charges are also in good form in the league, as they have won five of their last six league matches and are unbeaten in that run, after edging rivals Cape Town City 1-0 prior to the final.

The Western Cape side are lying fifth on the table with 23 points, just two points behind the Buccaneers and they will be without Fawaaz Basadien due to suspension.

The Soweto giants will be looking to turn the tables after losing 1-0 to Stellenbosch in their opening league game.

Here's how they line up:
