Kaizer Chiefs are gearing up for another Soweto Derby as they take on Moroka Swallows in DStv Premiership action on Sunday afternoon.

Teams: Moroka Swallows v Kaizer Chiefs

Date: 26 November 2023

Venue: Dobsonville Stadium

Time: 15h00

Chiefs lost their third game in four league matches after a narrow 1-0 loss to Orlando Pirates, which ended their five-game winning streak against their arch-rivals, prior to the FIFA break.

As a result, the Glamour Boys are lying in lowly 11th spot on the table with 14 points from 12 matches.

The Birds, meanwhile, extended their unbeaten run to five matches after a goalless draw against Polokwane City before the international break.

Chiefs will be without veteran goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune due to injury, while Keagan Dolly, Ashley Du Preez and Thatayaone Ditlhokwe also miss out through injury.

Steve Komphela's charges are flying high, as they are lying fifth on the standings with 18 points after ten games.

The sides cancelled each other out last season in their league duels, as Amakhosi edged Swallows 2-1 in the first round clash.

Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana and Keagan Dolly gave Chiefs a two-goal cushion before the break and Waseem Isaacs pulled a goal back for the Birds in the second stanza.

Swallows turned the tables in the reverse with a 2-1 win as well, as Bongani Sam scored what proved to be the winner in the first half after Christian Saile had cancelled out an early opener by Gregory Damons.

Here's how they line up:

Moroka Swallows: Akpeyi, Phillips, Allan, Sibiya, Sam, Phalane, Jali, Makhubela, Mhango, Mtshali, Mabasa
