Teams: Mamelodi Sundowns v SuperSport United

Date: 12 March 2024

Venue: Loftus Versfeld Stadium

Time: 19h30

The Brazilians won back-to-back league games since the restart after beating Chippa United 2-0 over the weekend thanks for goals by Teboho Mokoena and Tashreeq Matthews.

Rulani Mokwena's charges extended their lead at the top of the log to 12 points, with three games in hand and also stretched their unbeaten run in the league to 41 matches, stretching back from last season.

SuperSport, on the other hand, remained winless in regulation time in all competitions since they resumed their season after they salvaged a 1-1 draw against AmaZulu over the weekend, where Lyle Lakay snatched a late equaliser following a first-half opener by Victor Letsoalo for Usuthu.

Matsatsantsa are lying fourth on the log, 13 points behind their run-away neighbours.

United will be without Etiosa Ighodaro, who is suspended for this fixture but he was not going to be available anyway, as he is barred by a loan agreement with parent club Sundowns, including goalkeeper Richardo Goss, who is ineligible for selection.

The Brazilians are chasing a league double over SuperSport after beating them 2-0 in the first round courtesy of goals by Lucas Ribeiro Costa and Peter Shalulile.
