Teams: Mamelodi Sundowns v Sekhukhune United

Date: 23 April 2024

Venue: Loftus Versfeld Stadium

Sundowns were last in action in the league just over a week ago after they squandered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Moroka Swallows.

Masandawana could have one eye on their CAF Champions League semi-final second-leg against Esperance on Friday, after they lost the first-leg 1-0 away on Saturday.

Rulani Mokwena's charges are ten points clear at the top of the table, with at least three games in hand.

Sekhukhune, on the other hand, are in a good run of form in the league after extending their unbeaten streak to ten matches after their narrow 1-0 win over Cape Town Spurs on Saturday.

Babina Noko are chasing a continental spot on the table, as they are lying fourth, four points behind second-placed Stellenbosch.

Sundowns edged ten-man Sekhukhune 2-1 in the first round clash, as Peter Shalulile opened the scoring early in the game before Vusimuzi Mncube was red-carded for Sekhukhune moments later.

Lucas Ribeiro Costa made it 2-0 for the Brazilians around the hour-mark and Jamie Webber only reduced the deficit a few minutes later.

Sundowns also finished the game with ten men after Rivaldo Coetzee was sent off in the dying minutes.
