Teams: Mamelodi Sundowns v AmaZulu

Date: 27 February 2024

Venue: Loftus Versfeld Stadium

Time: 19h00

The Brazilians won back-to-back matches in different competitions, after hammering NB La Masia 6-1 in the Nedbank Cup last 32 and beat Nouadhibou 2-0 in the CAF Champions League over the weekend and booked their spot in the knockout stages with a game to spare.

However, Masandawana are without victory in their last three games in the league after playing to a 1-1 draw against Orlando Pirates in their first game since the restart.

Rulani Mokwena's charges are perched at the top of the table with a nine-point lead and two games in hand.

The Tshwane giants will be without Mosa Lebusa due to suspension.

AmaZulu, meanwhile, are on a high and well rested after booking their spot in the Nedbank Cup round of 16 with a narrow 1-0 win over Royal AM last Thursday.

However, Pablo Franco Martin's men will be looking to avoid a second defeat on the bounce after a 3-1 drubbing by Cape Town Spurs in their opening game of 2024.

Usuthu are lying 12th on the table, two points off top eight spots.

Sundowns will be chasing a league double over AmaZulu after edging them 1-0 in December last year courtesy of a lone strike by Lucas Ribeiro Costa in Durban.

Here's how they line up:

Mamelodi Sundowns: Williams, Mdunyelwa, Lunga, Kekana, Zungu, Mokoena, Maboe, Modiba, Esquivel, Ribeiro, Sirino

Subs: D.Onyango, B.Onyango, Aubaas, Mkhulise, Mbule, Mendieta, Zwane, Lorch, Shalulile
