Teams: Kaizer Chiefs v Mamelodi Sundowns

Date: 02 May 2024

Venue: FNB Stadium

Time: 19h30

Sundowns healed the wounds of being knocked out of the CAF Champions League in the semi-finals after thrashing TS Galaxy 3-0 thanks to a brace by Peter Shalulile and a goal by Thembinkosi Lorch on Monday.

The Brazilians remained unbeaten at the top of the table since the start and need one more victory to be officially crowned champions.

Chiefs, on the other hand, ended a five-game winless run, that included four defeats after a 2-1 win over SuperSport United courtesy of goals by Christian Saile and Mduduzi Shabalala on Saturday.

Amakhosi are lying eighth on the table and in addition to chasing a top eight spot, they will be looking to become the first side to beat Sundowns this season in the league.

The Soweto giants will be without Edmilson Dove due to suspension.

The Brazilians won the first round clash 2-1 thanks to a brace by Shalulile, on either side of a goal by Ashley Du Preez.
