Teams: Golden Arrows v Orlando Pirates

Date: 17 December 2023

Venue: Mpumalanga Stadium

The Buccaneers continued their resurgence as they clinched their fourth victory in five matches and kept a fifth consecutive clean-sheet after a narrow 1-0 win over TS Galaxy last weekend.

Jose Riveiro's charges are lying fifth on the table with 22 points and victory will take them up to third on the log, one point behind second-placed SuperSport United.

In contrast, Arrows are on a bad run of form as they lost their fourth consecutive league match after a 2-0 defeat to Chippa United last weekend.

Abafana Bes'thende dropped down to seventh on the table with 20 points, two points behind the Buccaneers.

Pirates completed a league double over Arrows after beating them 2-0 away in the first round courtesy of a brace by Monnapule Saleng.

Saleng was on the scoresheet again when the Soweto giants thrashed the KwaZulu-Natal side 3-1 in the reverse, with Terrence Dzvukamanja and Vincent Pule securing the three points with last minute goals after Velemseni Ndwandwe had equalised for Arrows.
