The Brazilians enter this afternoon's clash with 11 wins from their opening 11 encounters this season, the last of which was a 3-0 win over Cape Town Spurs last week.
Rulani Mokwena's charges were involved in CAF Champions League action earlier this week, as they defeated Pyramids FC 1-0 in Egypt on Tuesday night.
The DStv Premiership leaders come up against a City side who saw their six-game winning streak ended by Stellenbosch FC in the Western Cape derby two weeks ago.
The Citizens find themselves in fourth position heading into this evening's clash but a will take them up to third, leapfrogging Orlando Pirates.
However, City have failed to beat Sundowns in their last six attempts in the league, with their last victory coming in the 2018/2019 season.
City will take to the field without top scorer Khanyiso Mayo, who misses this afternoon's clash through suspension.
