DStv Premiership

Teams: AmaZulu v Sekhukhune United

Date: 13 December 2023

Venue: King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium

Usuthu's losing streak in all competitions stretched to three matches after a narrow defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns last week, via a penalty converted by Lucas Ribeiro Costa.

Pablo Franco Martin's charges had just been knocked out of the Carling Knockout by TS Galaxy and now find themselves lying third-from-bottom with 15 points, five points above the relegation zone, after also losing to Stellenbosch in the league in that run.

Sekhukhune on the other hand, have been heavily involved in the CAF Confederation Cup group stages and remained in the running for a spot in the quarter-finals after a goalless draw against Stade Malien on Sunday.

Babina Noko were last in action in the league last week after beating Chippa United 2-0 courtesy of late goals by Jamie Webber and Vusimuzi Mncube.

Lehlohonolo Seema's troops are placed tenth on the table with 17 points, just a point out of the top eight bracket.

Usuthu had the upper hand in this fixture last season, as they won the return game 2-0 on home soil after a goalless draw in Polokwane.

Here's how they line up:

AmaZulu: Mzimela, Jooste, Hanamub, Fielies, Mobara, Mphahlele, Motshwari, Ngema, Dion, Moremi, Esktein

Subs: Mothwa, Zulu, Gumede, Brooks, Human, Mbanjwa, Ndlovu, Kwem, Letsoalo

Sekhukhune United: Learner, Mkhabela, Ntiya-Ntiya, Cardoso, Baartman, Mokhele, Mokwana, Webber, Morris, Mkhize, Mncube
