Carling Black Label Cup

Teams: Stellenbosch FC v Carling All-Stars

Date: 06 January 2023

Venue: Peter Mokaba Stadium

Time: 15h00

Stellenbosch won the right to face Carling All Star team voted by fans from clubs who were eliminated in the Carling Knockout tournament, with a quota of players allocated from the DStv Diski Challenge.

Stellies won their first trophy in the PSL after edging TS Galaxy in the Carling Knockout final on penalties following a 1-1 draw in extra-time on 16 December.

Steve Barker's charges are on an 11-game unbeaten run in all competitions after beating Orlando Pirates 3-2 in their last league match of 2023.

The Western Cape side came back from two goals down after Tapelo Xoki and Evidence Makgopa had given Pirates a two-goal lead.

Stellies completed the comeback with three goals within eight minutes late in the game through Iqraam Rayners, Devon Titus and Andre de Jong.

The All Star XI has undergone some late changes, as TS Galaxy defender Pogiso Sanoka, Edson Castillo of Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates striker Kermit Erasmus were all withdrawn for various reasons and they have been replaced by Njabulo Ngcobo from Chiefs, Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo from Pirates and AmaZulu striker Victor Letsoalo respectively.

The All Star team will be coached by the Buccaneers head coach Jose Riveiro and captained by Amakhosi goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune.

Here's how they line up:

Stellenbosch: Stephens, Mcaba, Basadien, Van Rooyen, Nduli, Moloisane, Mgaga, De Jong, Van Wyk, Titus, Rayners

Subs: Langeveldt, Jurgens, Sibande, De Kock, Matsheke, Sekgota, Palace, Mini, Boji, Masuluke
