Konami has got the horror game community in a frenzy after some cheeky tweets regarding their beloved franchise, Silent Hill.
It all started with a tweet on the official Konami Twitter account, which said, "Close your eyes. Always scary. Silent Hill 2 Siren." It included a video with no footage, only the sound of the siren.
This created a stir and Konami quickly put out another tweet, saying, "Easy there internet. We were watching streams of Dead By Daylight and thought we would share the noise and feel of being hunted. We won't take the tweet down and 'backpedal', we just wanted you to enjoy it."
Of course, this was not about to put out the fire, as fans of the iconic horror series continued to speculate. Then Konami dropped another tweet.
"We are sorry we got people fired up. Anything official would come first from @SilentHill or an event or something, not from us. We were just being fans and enjoyed the noise/memories. Sorry everyone, did mean to kill your Friday mood."
Interestingly, the account, which is not verified, is listed as "Silent Hill Official" and has links to the Facebook page and Konami's website. Added to this, the account was only created in July 2020.
Reports in the media have speculated that the casual tweets, and mention of "an event or something" could point towards Sony's State of Play which is going to be hosted later this month.
However, with no official word on the return of Silent Hill, fans will have to continue speculating.
