Earlier this week, news emerged that the Rockets have finally had their FIFA registration ban lifted. The Mpumalanga-based side settled the outstanding development fee owed to Portuguese outfit Amora FC for midfielder Mlungisi Zwane, following weeks of wrangling with world football’s governing body over confirmation of payment.
Now officially removed from FIFA’s banned list, Galaxy are once again eligible to sign and register players. Having already secured a host of local talents to strengthen Adnan Beganovic’s squad, Soccer Laduma has it on good authority that they are now far along in talks with Dutch attacker Ezra van der Heiden.
The Premier Soccer League has already welcomed one Dutch forward this season in Simon van Duivenbooden, who recently signed for Cape Town City. Soon, however, another could be plying his trade in South Africa’s top flight.
Sources familiar with Dutch football have informed this publication that van der Heiden is an agile and tricky winger, known for his ability to take on defenders one-on-one.

A product of De Graafschap Doetinchem’s academy, van der Heiden made 13 appearances for his hometown club in the Dutch second division before being released last year.
He was subsequently snapped up by Vitesse, where he featured in their under-21 side. While that meant reserve-team football in the Netherlands, his prospective move to Galaxy represents a return to the professional ranks – one in which he will be hoping to flourish.
