Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be setting a massive asking price for Cape Town-born striker Ashley Du Preez, following reported interest from Portuguese club Victoria SC, the Siya crew has been informed.
As previously reported by the Siya crew, Victoria is the Portuguese team involved and now negotiations between the two clubs are underway.

Siya sources close to the negotiations have indicated that R30 million is the price Amakhosi want for Du Preez.
"The Portuguese team is very serious about him. They have tabled their offer but Chiefs are looking at no less than R30 million for his transfer and also there are other conditions and causes in the discussion of his move but the main one is about the R30 million asking fee from Chiefs. If Victoria SC meet that then the move is on the cards," the Siya source stated.
Further insights suggest Amakhosi are strategically planning to reinvest the potential transfer funds into new signings, according to a second Siya source.
"Actually Chiefs don't just want to lose him without finding a proper replacement. They are scouting for strikers both locally and internationally to replace Du Preez in the event they agree the fee with the Portuguese club. The interest is intense and I don't think they will hold onto him for a long time. And also his contract is running out at the end of next season and they want to cash in on him while they still can. So, his move to Europe would be imminent right now," the second source stated.

Soccer Laduma reached out to the player's agent at Forward Zone, and his representative Michael Costa who provided additional comment on the situation.
"There are several clubs interested in Ashley from the Primeira Liga in Portugal. However, we are still waiting for a formal offer for Ashley. Given Ashley is one of Chiefs' top performers, any club looking to sign Ashley will need to make a substantial offer," Costa told Soccer Laduma.
Du Preez's potential move to Victoria SC represents a significant moment for both the player and Chiefs. With a substantial asking price set, Chiefs are looking to manage their squad by securing a suitable replacement should the transfer proceed.
Soccer Laduma contacted Chiefs for comment but no response was received by the time this report was published.
