As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, top South African clubs like Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, along with teams from the Middle East, have shown interest in signing Nwabali. The Siya crew recently reported how Pirates had moved ahead of the queue for the player.
However, the sources added that Chippa are adamant they will only release him if the right offer is presented, considering he is still under contract until June 2026.
A source close to the club indicated that the R35 million price tag is firm if any team wishes to buy him out of his current Chippa contract.
A second source, Chippa executive director Lukhanyo Mzinzi underlined their stance on the matter.
"Stanley is our player though we are looking for good offers because he has served the club very well but we won't rush into anything. We are not just going to let him go just for sake of letting him go," Mzinzi told Soccer Laduma.
When pressed about the R35 million asking price and details of his contract, Mzinzi was cautious not to divulge the exact information, though he didn't deny the figure.
"It's safe. His contract is safe. He is still our player. As for other things, I'm not at liberty to reveal anything," Mzinzi stated.
A third Siya source stated that both Chiefs and Pirates have already tabled offers for the Super Eagles number one goalkeeper.
"There are two main teams interested in Stanley (Nwabali). It's Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates but there are also teams from Europe and the Middle East so the team is taking its time to agree to offers made because they want to make the best money out of this deal. That's why they have the asking price at around R35 Million. They believe he is worth that or even more," the third source told the Siya crew.
The 28-year-old goalkeeper has enjoyed an impressive season, playing 26 PSL games while securing 11 clean sheets. He also won the silver medal with Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast earlier this year.
Chippa's strategic handling of their in-demand goalkeeper underscores their intent to maximize their return on investment. The club is in a strong position to negotiate favourable terms that reflect his growing stature in both local and international football circles.
