Orlando Pirates are understood to be closing in on a replacement goalkeeper, with the possible announcement of his signing pending.
Out of the six players that have left the Buccaneers since the 2023/24 season finished, two are goalkeepers in Richard Ofori and Siyabonga Mpontshane.

In planning to reinforce the goalkeeping department, the Soweto giants have had Chippa United and Nigeria number one Stanley Nwabali as their main target, while AmaZulu and Bafana Bafana's Veli Mothwa has also been on the club's wish-list for some time.
Chippa is willing to sell Nwabali although the Gqeberha outfit is said to be not willing to go low in its asking price.
Kaizer Chiefs have also been interested in the 27-year-old shot-stopper but were reportedly scared off by the R30 million price tag on his head.

"The negotiations for Stanley to Pirates are at an advanced stage. It's highly likely that it's going to happen. The only issue that seems to be delaying is the transfer fee but it's promising. There's a possibility of players being included as part of the deal, it's one of those," said the source.
Another source added, "It will be a good deal for Pirates because as a big club and the fact they are going back to the Champions League, they need players of Stanley's calibre. The boy has done well and proved beyond doubt that he is a quality player. Big clubs need big players who have also been doing well for their national teams."
