As previously reported by the Siya crew, Orlando Pirates were probably in talks with right back Bandile Shandu for the player to stay on for a longer period at the club.

Now, Siya sources close to the club have indicated that the former Maritzburg United defender might have signed a new one-year deal with a one-year additional option.
The source added that since his current contract is ending in June 2024 the club may want to move faster to tie him down.
"You remember when we spoke before the end of last season there were talks and now those talks are done and dusted," said the Siya source.
"Apparently it's a one-year straight deal plus another one-year option. So, it's fair to say he will be there until 2025 at least if the option is not exercised. I know it's done. I have no doubt about that," the source told the Siya crew.
A different source added that the potential deal might have been agreed before the end of last season.
"Yes, he has signed a new deal. It's two years. One straight year and a one-year option. The technical team is very happy with the player and they want to keep him beyond his current contract which ends in June next year," added the source.
The 28-year-old initially joined Pirates in 2021, signing a three-year contract. Soccer Laduma contacted Pirates for a comment but received no response while preparing this story.
