With Kaizer Chiefs understood to be chasing sought-after DR Congo striker Fiston Mayele under Nasreddine Nabi, the Siya crew has been reliably informed that there was an opportunity to land the player before the Tunisian coach's time.
It was recently reported by the Siya crew that Amakhosi have appeared to be making plans for a Plan B in their striker search, with Kenyan international Michael Olunga understood to be one of the players on the club's radar, as securing the signature of Mayele seems to have become increasingly difficult.

Having worked with Mayele when he coached Young Africans in Tanzania, Nabi has been keen to reunite with the 30-year-old forward who has been scoring goals for Pyramids of Egypt.
With Chiefs having committed to assisting Nabi in all his attempts to get the team to compete in all competitions going forward, bringing Mayele to Naturena would be part of the plan although the move is unlikely to happen due to the player being contracted to Pyramids who are believed to be having a high asking price for him.
New information received by the Siya crew is that Chiefs had the opportunity to sign Mayele in the past, during his time with Yanga.

"It's not the first time that Chiefs have known about Fiston Mayele. The player was offered to the club some months ago, before Nabi became the club's head coach, but there was no interest from the club at the time," said the source.
"Mayele was still playing for Yanga at the time, and he was 28, but back then Chiefs felt he was too old for their requirements. It's interesting that now after two years he is a player that they would be keen on from what I hear, and it's just unfortunate that they would have to pay a way lot more now for him," the source said.
